All Alone

So Jason is on his yearly team leader retreat for work until Sunday morning (I dread this one weekend out of the year). He went camping at Starvation Reservoir. I am here all by myself today and tomorrow until my family arrives to stay for the week. But don't worry about me; I will have my security system armed, my taser and pepper spray next to me on the nightstand, and will set up Chase's pack and play in our closet so I can lock and barricade my bedroom door. Just kidding, the security system and taser should do the trick. And I have plenty to do to keep me busy. I just feel so lonely when I know he's not around and feel like a single mom (which is probably my biggest fear). I may just break the rules tonight and let Bentley sleep on the bed with me.

Anyways, I miss you babe. I get really depressed when you are out of town. I am very grateful you don't travel for work (yet anyway) because I don't know what I would do. And when you do, you better take me with you. Or Rachel, you better come move in with me until he gets back!

Anyhow, I need to decide what to get for dinner...it's either Rumbi, Rumbi, or Rumbi because Cafe Rio is going to be way too packed. And Del Taco's Drive Thru is going to be out of control! Oh franchise owners, why can't you open more restaurants around here?

Poor Gorilla

So apparently, at a zoo in Germany, this mother gorilla's baby died at 3 months and she is having a hard time giving up her baby. She's been carrying her body around since Sunday. I think it's so sad, it breaks my heart! It's also very sweet to see an animal grieving for her child. I hope she finds peace soon. Sorry if some of you are a little grossed out by the picture.

Anyways, just thought that was interesting. And that is my goal, to make my blog more interesting by sharing things I read and learn. Hope it's working.

Gymnastics Show

By the way, I am going to go see the Team USA Gymnastics Tour in October!! I'm so excited. If anyone is interested, it's at the Energy Solutions Arena October 3. Get your tickets then join Raelene and me for dinner after the show!

Husbands and Housework

I just read in my Parents magazine that husbands create a whole 7 extra hours of housework for wives each week....Hmm...maybe taking 30 seconds to wipe the crumbs you put on the counter, or hanging up that one shirt rather than throwing it on the ground before it becomes a pile of 20 would be helpful...

Not that I'm complaining. I am very grateful I get to stay home with my baby and live a comfortable lifestyle. And I'm definitely not saying that Jason creates 7 extra hours of housework. I just thought that was an interesting piece of information...and possibly true!

Go USA!

I am a huge women's gymnastics fan, always have been since I can remember...I had a great time watching the women's all around this morning and was thrilled to see the US dominating! It was such a disappointment when the US team only received the silver when they should have gotten the gold (especially since the Chinese cheat and lie about the ages of their gymnasts) so this almost makes up for it! I was so happy that Nastia won the gold, it was well-deserved and she always looks so graceful during all her routines. I am a big fan of Shawn Johnson as well, but I was really hoping Nastia would win the gold. Plus, Shawn is so young, she still has another Olympics ahead and another chance for gold. I have to admit, I even got a little teary-eyed watching the medal ceremony. These girls, along with the rest of team USA, are coming to Salt Lake for a show and I so want to go!

I know I am behind on my blogging and owe you some updates! August is almost over and this is my first post! I will try to catch up this weekend and let you all in on the excitement in our lives...my cleaning binges, trips to Walmart and Costco, unpacking our house still...it doesn't get any more exciting than that! At least you do know now that I've been obsessively watching the Olympics (well at least women's gymnastics, that's pretty much all I care about). Stay tuned...
