Chase's Birthday Cake-Would you hire us?

Today Chase turns 2 (more on that later). I just wanted to post some pictures of Jason's masterpiece. We were up till past 2 in the morning finishing up Chase's cake. We are doing a Toy Story-themed party since that is Chase's absolute favorite movie. Every time I ask him what he wants to watch, he replies "Bu" meaning Buzz. Or he will bring me the remote and ask for "Bu". So we made a Mr. Potato Head cake, are decorating with Buzz decorations (if we can find any-the party is in a few hours and I still have no Buzz party favors), have an Etch a Sketch that Jason is going to write Happy Birthday on, have a Buzz and Woody poster to decorate with and that's about it. So the question is, how are our cake making (it's a chocolate cake with caramel frosting) and cake decorating skills (courtesy of Jason)?

Chase's Photo Shoot

A few weeks ago Jason and I took Chase to a local park to play around with our camera and get some shots of him. I didn't want to waste any money paying a photographer since Chase won't sit still for anything! Jason and I together took around 500 pictures-out of those 500 pictures Chase is only looking in 20 of them! The rest of the time he's running around exploring. We have plenty of the back of his head!

Anyway, these shots are my favorites. There's about 20-some odd pictures here.

No More Cowlick!

Chase went in for a haircut today and it is the shortest its ever been cut! He looks so funny to me. His cowlick is gone for now but it will be sticking back up in just a few short weeks!

Chase Loves the Gym!

Back in August I signed Chase up for a little mom and me gym class. I wanted him to be in some kind of class so he could get his energy out, be around a big group of kids his age and hopefully pick up some language from them so he will start talking! He absolutely loves it. He does a lot of happy squealing during the class and claps his hands. Hopefully we can do it during the long boring winter too! It's a little expensive (like a couple hundred dollars!) but totally worth it!

Here are some pictures of Chase during his gym class. It was fun today because Jason was able to stop by and join us! The gym is actually just right up the road from where he works. Chase's favorite is at the end when the teacher pulls out a basketball hoop and a ton of balls. He loves shooting hoops! I think I know what to get him for his birthday coming up...



Walking the beam-he's getting the hang of it, just a few weeks ago all he would was jump off it!

Hanging from the high bar! He kept wanting to hang from it and his little face would get so red from trying to hang on! He loved letting go and having dad catch him!

Our Weekend with Amber

Last weekend Jason's sister Amber came to visit. It was my first time meeting her since being with Jason for almost 7 years! She was really cute and fun. It's our goal to see each other once a year from now on!

She flew in late Friday night and left Monday morning so we only had Saturday and Sunday to spend time with her-it flew by way too fast! Saturday we took her to the Thanksgiving Point Gardens (they are gorgeous and Chase loved running around-he got pretty worn out) then ate at Texas Roadhouse. By the time we finally sat at our table (we waited 40 minutes) Chase had it. He was throwing fits at the table and would not just sit down and play with all the toys and eat the snacks I brought him. He finally calmed down in Amber's lap and played with her water.

On Sunday we went up to Snowbird, a ski resort up one of the many canyons here. Jason and I had never been but it was really fun. They have a lot of activities to do over the summer such as a tram ride, an alpine slide, a zip line, a ski lift to ride, a mechanical bull (none of us did that), a rockwall, etc. Chase had fun on the alpine slide and tram. On the ski lift Jason kept him in a death grip so he wouldn't wiggle out and fall the 100+ ft below us. Yes, he did try and wiggle out of the ski lift a few times. He also had a lot of fun pointing out the ski lifts going by us the opposite way. He would point and make his little squeaker sound anytime one passed us. He got even more excited when there were people on them. We also saw a moose from the ski lift but I was too scared to take my camera or anything else out of my purse for fear of dropping it and never seeing it again! Chase and Jason on the ski lift (this was just a short ski lift ride to get to the zipline and alpine slide-it only lasted like 2 minutes. The big one we took where Chase tried to wiggle out lasted 20 minutes)

What A Messy Kid!

This boy sure is a pro at making a mess! Here are some of his cute messes lately:

Oatmeal pretty much everywhere. I should have just gotten him naked.

Peanut butter (he also had rubbed it all in his hair)

Baths are a common occurrence in this house! (usually more than once a day). Good thing he loves the water!
