Learning to Eat
I am truly frustrated when it comes to feeding Chase. Sometimes I lose my cool and yell at him, which I know I shouldn't do. But why does he have to be so difficult to feed? Seriously, not much passes his mouth besides cookies and cereal. And I have limited his cookie eating in hopes that he will eat more real food. No luck yet. Today Chase refused to eat any of his baby food at lunch and dinner. So I left the jar of food and spoon on his tray and walked away. He picked up the spoon and started feeding himself. He did pretty well bringing the spoon to his mouth. The only mess he made was on his tray, face and hair, which was no big deal because it was his bath time tonight. Then I had to transfer his food to a bowl because he started having a hard time getting to the bottom of the jar. After a few spoonfuls, he picks up his bowl and throws it onto the carpet. It splattered all over our couches and carpet and even down into the heating vent. This after the dog peed in our house on the carpet twice today and Chase playing with the dirtiness that was in his diaper. It was a messy day in this house! Here are pictures of Chase feeding himself:

Don't let it frustrate you, and don't feed him too much junk. If he doesn't want what you offer him, then he doesn't eat. He won't starve. Emma was like that for a good year, and she is just now trying more fruits and vegetables, but only if we clap and cheer for her after each bite. Offer him healthy stuff--if he's hungry and that's his only option, he'll eat it.
